静寂閑雅
TOMOYA ICHIKAWA

Based on the theme of the beautiful Japanese spiritual culture of "Quiet Elegance,"

He expresses his unique worldview and aesthetic sense using his beloved material, glass.

The shock of encountering such captivating beauty is an emotional experience that will stay etched in your mind.

It is my life's work as an artist to express those emotions in my work and share those moving experiences with others.

The chunky marbles, the clear streams of nature that were my playground, the ink paintings of Zen temples, the "white" scenery of Toyama,

Although the times and places we meet may vary, true beauty is something everyone can feel purely beautiful.

Nothing more, nothing less; there is no philosophy or logic involved.

We hope you enjoy the works that express the pure beauty of Japan, born from emotion and sensibility.

Quiet and tranquil elegance: A state or atmosphere of pure silence, elegance, and charm

ICHIKAWA TOMOYA.jpg

When I was a child, I encountered beautiful jewels called marbles, and the transparent texture and the colorful, sparkling world that unfolded within them led me to the world of glass.

Even now, as a glass artist, my passion for marbles, which are my roots, remains a major driving force in my creations, just as I felt when I first encountered them.

I am grateful to have found the perfect partner, glass, which continues to fascinate me without ever fading, and I will continue to spread the charms of glass throughout my life.

"Every day I'm moved, every day I'm touched, every day I'm grateful"
